When we lived in Denmark for several months in the 80's, the people often mentioned that they had to pay high taxes, but they didn't mind because they had free health care, college tuition, early child care (including very lengthy paid maternal leave). I used to volunteer at a free clinic -the doctors loved being able to practice without having to worry about the money part. The people who would not like "medicare for all" are the insurance companies and stock holders. A number of years ago I had stock in a pharmaceutical company -- I now am ashamed how much I loved that money maker!
